Managing SMS, Email and Automated Call Notifications for Resident Users

Opting Out of Notifications


SMS Notifications

If you wish to stop receiving SMS notifications from the Civify app, follow these steps:

  1. Reply with "STOP" to the municipality's notification phone number. This action will unsubscribe you from SMS notifications.


Email Notifications

To unsubscribe from email notifications sent by the app, follow these steps:

  1. Open an email notification received from the Civify app.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the email and locate the "Unsubscribe" link.
  3. Click on the "Unsubscribe" link. This will remove you from the email notification list.


Automated Call Notifications

Automated call notifications often include a prompted number that allows you to opt-out. Here's what to do:

  1. During an automated call notification, listen for instructions on pressing a specific number (e.g., "Press 2 to unsubscribe").
  2. Follow the instructions and press the prompted number to unsubscribe from automated call notifications.


Subscribing or Unsubscribing from Individual Projects

The Civify app provides residents with the flexibility to choose which projects they want to receive notifications for. Here's how to subscribe or unsubscribe from specific projects:

  1. Open the Civify App on your device.
  2. Browse the list of projects to find the one you want to manage notifications for.
  3. Click the "Subscribe" button if you wish to receive notifications for that project. Clicking "Unsubscribe" will stop notifications for that project.




Changing Notification Preferences in the App

You can easily customize your notification preferences within the Civify App by following these steps:

  1. Open the Civify App.
  2. Click on your profile photo icon located in the top right corner to access the dropdown menu.
  3. Select the "Edit Profile" option from the dropdown.

        4. In the "Edit Profile" section, you will find options to customize your notification preferences. These include toggles or checkboxes for SMS, email, and automated call notifications.

        5. Adjust your notification preferences according to your preferences.

        6. Don't forget to click the "Save" or "Update" button to save your changes.





Resubscribing to Notifications

If you have previously unsubscribed from notifications but now wish to resubscribe, follow these steps:

  1. Tick the notification preferences you desire within the "Edit Profile" tab in the app. This step will resubscribe you to email and automated call notifications.
  2. For SMS notifications, an additional step is required. Reply with "START" to the municipality's notification phone number, which can be found at the bottom of the Civify App. This action is specific to resubscribing to SMS notifications.

By following these steps, you can easily manage your notification preferences, ensuring that you receive the information that matters most to you while maintaining control over your communication with your municipality.
