There are three distinct user account types, each designed to fulfill specific roles and responsibilities within the organization and its interactions with external users. These account types include:

  1. Municipal Admin User
  2. Municipal Team Member User
  3. Resident User

This article will provide a comprehensive explanation of the differences between these three user account types, highlighting their unique privileges.

Municipal Admin User:

The Municipal Admin User is the highest-level account type within the app, serving as the primary administrator of the organization's app subscription. This account type carries significant administrative powers. Here are the key features and duties of a Municipal Admin User:

  • Access to All Features: Municipal Admin Users can access and utilize all features and functionalities available in the app.
  • Complete User Management: They have full control over managing Team Members within the organization. This includes adding, modifying, removing accounts, and changing statuses.
  • Project/Post Access: Team members can access all posts and projects within the organization.

Municipal Team Member User:

The Municipal User is the second-tier account type in the app and plays a crucial role in the organization's operations. Municipal Users have many of the same capabilities as Municipal Admin Users but with certain limitations. Here's what defines a Municipal User:

  • Access to Features: Municipal Users can access and utilize all features and functionalities available in the app, just like Municipal Admin Users.
  • Limited User Management: Municipal Users cannot manage Team Members or Municipal Users within the organization. They cannot add, modify, remove accounts, or change statuses.
  • Project/Post Access: Team members can only access projects and posts which they are tagged in.

Resident User:

The Resident User account type is intended for individuals who are external to the organization but play an essential role in the app's ecosystem. Resident Users have distinct privileges. Here's what you need to know about Resident Users:

  • Subscriber Role: Resident Users act as subscribers to the content and information displayed by Municipal Admin Users and Municipal Users within the app. They do not have administrative or user management privileges.
  • Notifications: Resident Users can receive notifications from projects they have subscribed to, ensuring they stay informed about relevant updates and activities.
  • Feedback Submission: Resident Users have the ability to submit feedback through the app, providing valuable insight and participating in community engagement efforts.

Conclusion: Civify employs three distinct user account types - Municipal Admin Users, Municipal Team Member Users, and Resident Users - each serving specific roles within the platform. Municipal Admin Users hold administrative control, Municipal Team Member Users actively participate in organization activities, and Resident Users, though external, engage with content, receive notifications, and contribute feedback, enhancing the app's functionality and community engagement. Understanding these account types and their respective privileges is essential for efficient and secure app management.
