Managing Resident Data: Imports & Exports

This article covers how to access your resident database, bulk import residents from a spreadsheet, and export resident data — either as a full list or as an individual profile.

Accessing Resident Records

  1. Select Residents from the navigation menu.

This is your resident database, where bulk imports, exports, and individual profiles are all managed.

Bulk Importing Residents

Bulk import is especially useful after a public meeting, where residents fill out a sign-in sheet to get notified about a project or topic. When you import a list, each resident is automatically subscribed to the content you choose, and they'll receive an email letting them know an account has been created for them.

  1. Click the Bulk import button.
  2. Download the CSV template for bulk import.
  3. Follow the instructions on the Instructions tab of the sheet.
  4. Fill in the resident information. Name, email, and address are required for the account to be created properly.

Tip: To subscribe a resident to email, SMS, or calls, just place an x in the corresponding column.

  5. Click Browse to upload your completed resident file.

Your file must be saved as a .csv. In Excel: File → Save As, then set the file type to CSV.

  6. Select the project(s) you want these residents subscribed to. You can select more than one.
  7. Click Upload to complete the import.

Once the upload finishes, each resident is subscribed to the content you selected and receives an email notifying them that an account has been created.

Exporting Your Resident List

  1. Click Export on the Residents page.
  2. Click All subscriptions.
  3. Select the contact details you want included in the export, then click Download.

Exporting an Individual Resident Profile

  1. Select a resident from the list to open their profile.
  2. Click Export record within the resident's profile.
  3. Choose your export type — PDF or JSON — and select the information you want included.
  4. Click Export to complete the file download.
